About Us — Lost In LA
Some people get lost and find their way back. We got lost in LA — and never wanted to leave.
Lost In LA was born from the streets, the sunsets, and the soul of Los Angeles. Our story begins with Joel Stallworth — athlete, dreamer, and founder — who first came to LA to chase Olympic glory. A world-class track and field competitor, Joel earned a Gold Medal at the 2008 World Championship in Valencia, Spain, and trained relentlessly with his eyes set on the Olympics. But somewhere between the palm trees, the ocean breeze, the culture, the food, and the heartbeat of this city — Los Angeles became more than a training ground. It became home.
Joel attended Cal State Stanislaus, but it was the streets of LA that gave him his real education.
In 2013, Joel met Tamiya Dickerson — a fellow Stockton, California native and the woman who would become his partner in life and in business. Tamiya, a University of Southern California alumna, saw the vision and invested in it wholeheartedly. Together, they built Lost In LA from the ground up — two kids from Stockton who fell in love with a city, with each other, and with the idea that culture deserves to be worn, celebrated, and shared.
What Inspires Us
The street art. The lights. The legacy of Malcolm X — his resilience, his courage, his unwavering stand for freedom and justice. The roar of a stadium. The pride of a city that never stops moving. LA isn't just a backdrop — it's our muse.
We believe that when you truly love something, you get lost in it. And getting lost — for all the right reasons — is exactly where the magic lives.
Our Roots Run Deep
For six years, we operated our physical storefront in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, serving our community face to face. LA has given us so much — including our two beautiful boys, Samuel and Joel Jr. This brand is for them. It's for this city. It's for everyone who has ever felt the pull of something greater than themselves.
Lost In LA Is for Good People
No matter where you're from, you are welcome here. We believe all good people deserve to feel seen, celebrated, and connected to something real. Whether you're a lifelong Angeleno or someone who just discovered this city for the first time — if you love what LA represents, you're already one of us.
We're not lost. We're exactly where we're supposed to be.
